Website Metrics For Business Owners: Revenue, Sales & Top Products
Welcome back! This week’s metric will be revenue, sales & top products.
This type of metric can include sales by month, year over year, sales per day, and top selling products. These metrics can help determine seasonal trends, year over year changes, and even which products to highlight on your site for a more direct purchase funnel.
Perhaps you’ve found that sales of Product-A are highest in the spring, and sales of Product-B are highest during the holiday season. If that’s the case, you might consider advertising Product-A during its offseason to boost sales year-round.
Since certain products are likely more profitable than other products, it’s desirable to increase their sales as much as possible. If you’re netting $10 in profit from Product-A, but netting $20 in profit from Product-B, it’s clear which product you should focus on increasing sales for. Take a look at your e-commerce data in Google Analytics and determine what makes the most sense for your business. As always, i3 can help you with your marketing strategy!
