What Social Media Analytics Should I Be Tracking?

So, you want to track your results on social media. Analytics are a great way to do that! While these numbers can all be helpful in one way or another, the amount of them can be overwhelming.

We’re here to recommend some basic types of social media analytics that we recommend you track!

Here’s a brief run-down of each one and why to watch them:

1. Impressions – This measures how many times someone sees your post, so it’s a great way to track your reach. Use your impressions numbers as a way to experiment with expanding your reach!

2. View – Similarly, this number measures how many times your videos are played. Aim for high view numbers by appealing to a wider audience or posting shorter videos to get re-watches.

3. Conversions – When you’re looking for conversions on an ad, post, or otherwise, you’re checking to see how many people took your desired action based on your goals. This may include new followers, profile views, link clicks, or more! This is how you should measure your post’s success!

4. Website traffic – If getting your audience to visit your website is one of your goals, then you should measure how many people go visit your website from your social media pages! This is especially helpful to watch if you want to compare how your posts with this goal perform.

5. Post engagement rate – Want to know how much of your audience is interacting with what you post? Check this metric! Don’t be disheartened if it seems low, these percentages are usually small. Just aim for growth as you continue marketing!
