It feels like Google is always in first place when it comes to search. However,…
SEO True or False
Today, we’d like to help you debunk some common misconceptions about SEO, with a quick game of True or False!
– SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
True!
– SEO is the process of gaining “organic” traffic through search engine results.
That’s also true! SEO is a marketing strategy to gain traffic through free search engine results, not through paid search ads.
– One-time site optimization is all you need to remain a contender in search engine rankings.
False! While one-time optimization may help with short-term results, in order to remain competitive, you must keep up with the ever-changing algorithms of search engines.
– SEO results can be guaranteed within a certain time frame.
This is also false! Beware of the sales pitch: “We will get your first-page ranking in 30 days or less!” There is no way for any agency to guarantee a website’s ranking, much less within a certain time frame. Website ranking is done periodically and is dependent on the crawling and indexing done by search engines, as well as the ranking of other sites, which are beyond SEO companies’ control.
– SEO efforts can be analyzed and measured on a regular basis.
It may sound crazy, but it’s true! It’s been said many times that if something can be measured, it can be proved. When it comes to SEO, measurement is crucial to success! The results of the analytics are so that necessary changes can be made where needed, and so that your strategy can be strengthened as time goes on!
While SEO campaigns can be expensive, there are products out there to help measure the activity on your existing site well within most marketing budgets. If you’d like to get started on measuring activity on your website, check out the link here or reach out to us for more information!
